Official devices
Company hardware, tracked
Record managed devices against their SKU and the person they are assigned to.
Platform / Workforce
WebFrolic keeps an inventory of the official and personal devices your workforce uses: what each device is, who it is assigned to, and when it was first and last used. Because devices live in the identity provider, the device record sits next to the person and their access.
Available now in WebFrolic.
Why it matters
Device records usually sit in a spreadsheet or a separate tool, so nobody can say which devices a departing employee still holds or which personal phones are used for sign-in. Keeping the inventory in the identity provider ties devices to the same lifecycle as the person.
Official devices
Record managed devices against their SKU and the person they are assigned to.
Personal devices
Keep personal devices used for work in their own list, separate from company hardware.
Assignments and usage
See each device’s owner, first and last use, and retire it when it comes back or goes missing.
What the inventory holds
| Record | What it holds | Use it to |
|---|---|---|
| Managed devices | Official company devices and their details. | Know what hardware you own and where it is. |
| Personal devices | Employee-owned devices used for work. | See which personal devices are part of your environment. |
| Device SKUs | The directory of device models you use. | Keep device records consistent. |
| Assignments | Which person each device is assigned to. | Recover devices when someone leaves or changes role. |
| Usage | First and last use of each device. | Spot devices that are idle, lost or overdue for return. |
In the console
Menu names match the WebFrolic console. The setup guide has the detail.
In Devices, add the device models you use to the SKU directory.
Add official devices to the managed list and personal devices to their own list.
Assign each device to the person who holds it.
When someone leaves, review their assigned devices and retire or reassign each one.
Before rollout
Settle these first and the rollout is mostly configuration.
